Sherwin-Williams Employee Scholarship Program

PURPOSE
To assist graduating high school seniors who are sons and daughters of full-time employees of The Sherwin-Williams Company, who meet specific criteria, finance their education.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Student applicants must be sons or daughters of a full-time employee of The Sherwin-Williams Company.
  • Student must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 upon graduation from high school.
  • Student must have achieved a combined score of 1080 (or higher) on the SAT and/or a composite score of 23 (or higher) on the ACT or the Canadian equivalent.
  • Students selected for The Sherwin-Williams Company Scholarship should follow a full-time college course of study or major in a four-year college.
  • Parent employed by Sherwin-Williams must have one year of continuous service with Sherwin-Williams as of January 1, 2010.
  • Children of Sherwin-Williams’ executive officers are not eligible.

Factors that will be considered in selecting the winners:

  • Those who have displayed academic achievement, leadership in voluntary community service and/or job/work record.
  • Scholarships will be awarded based on the applicant’s scholastic record and class standing, results of college admittance tests such as the ACT and SAT, recommendations from individuals familiar with the applicant, extracurricular activities, community service, or work experience.
  • Financial need will not be a consideration.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
The Sherwin-Williams Foundation will award twelve (12), $2,000 scholarships for academic year 2010-2011. The one-year non-renewable $2,000 scholarship awards will be disbursed at the beginning of the academic year.
