Cuyahoga County Water Utility Scholarship

The Cuyahoga County Water Utility Scholarship was established to assist students in going to a four-year college or university. The scholarship is a non-renewable award of $5,000 - four scholarships are available to be awarded. Eligible recipients include graduating high school seniors or current college undergraduate students attending a four-year college or university.

In addition, to be eligible, students must have a parent or guardian working in Cuyahoga County for a water utility company or a company that services water utilities.

Students applying for the scholarship must write an essay on the topic of water. Candidates can choose any aspect of water (e.g., water supply, water conservation, water uses, etc). 

Those applying for the Cuyahoga County Water Utility Scholarship must submit the following required materials:

  • Essay (as described above)
  • A letter from the parent or guardian providing the name and address of their employer and their relationship with the water utility company (must be working in Cuyahoga County)
  • A completed CSP on-line scholarship application
  • Un-official high school transcript or college transcript (note: if awarded the scholarship - official transcripts will be requested)
  • ACT or SAT test score documentation (for entering freshmen)
  • Acceptance letter from college or university (for entering college freshmen)
  • Proof of college enrollment (for current college students)
  • Financial Aid Award letter from college or university
